The Anatomy of Lust

"How to enjoy your desires." — A teaching map of a single drive: how it is kindled, why it is hard, what it does to the object, and the gap where the chapter lives.

Every desire is asked two questions — A. Why is the wanting hard? and B. What does the reaching do to the object? Scroll to begin. Touch, drag and slide — the map answers back.

C2Where desire is born

I. The Kindling of the Drive

"You do not choose what catches your eye, caro. The eye is caught. My only question is whether you took the aim — or whether the thing reached out and took you." — Alfredo Miamo

Before a desire is hard, before it reaches anything, it simply ignites. It arrives in two guises. Switch the mode and move the light. Feel the difference between aiming and being pulled.

TARGET — we aim
conscious · the object is passive · "I want that."
ATTRACTOR — it pulls
unconscious · the object has agency · a little god

TARGET mode — click anywhere: you take aim and move yourself toward what you want.

II. Why the Wanting Is Hard

"It is the same hunger, sempre. Only the price changes. A gelato, a body, a city, the whole earth — pick where on the blade you wish to stand." — Alfredo Miamo

A desire meets resistance in three families — its consequences, its structure, and its access. The deepest of these is consequence: the same drive, escalating only by what it would cost. The prudent measure sits in the middle — at BENIGN the balance lies level; depart in either direction and it tips under the load. To the left runs the literal ledger of harm — who or what pays the price. To the right, the very same descent read through Hillman: cost not as damage but as the soul deepening into symptom, image, wound, and at last the underworld. The Greeks of prudence knew it: the measure is found only at the centre.

BENIGN
harms: no one
A want whose cost is trivial. Indulge freely — the world is unscratched.

STRUCTURE — friction inside the desire
Insatiable (always more), self-cancelling (vanity), forbidden (Es vs. Über-Ich), contradictory.
ACCESS — the object out of reach
Absent, scarce, owned by another, or blocked. And when a thing is out of reach, a man like Russo is happy to make an introduction.

III. What the Reaching Does to Objects and Subjects

"To want is nothing. To reach is everything — for the moment you touch it, you decide what it becomes, and what becomes of you." — Alfredo Miamo

A reached-for thing can be an object or a subject — a flavour to be licked, or a someone who feels the reaching back. There are five ways the meeting can go. Tap each to see the fate of what is reached for, and of the one who reaches.

UNION

DESTRUCTION
it is annihilated
ATTACHMENT
held & retained
CONSUMPTION
it is used up
TRANSFORMATION
changed & raised
Tap an encounter above. Two lenses cut across all five: symmetry (is the fate shared, or borne by one side?) and perception (does each side undergo the same thing — regardless of who reached?).

IV. The Promise and the Delivery

"Union, amore — that is all anyone has ever wanted from me. I only want everyone to have a good time. Look closely, and decide for yourself what you got." — Alfredo Miamo

Every desire makes a promise. The file asks a quieter question — what does it actually do?

V. The Path & The Invitation

"A three-step path to eternal life. You do not get to absolute glory without making a few poses."
